Nikon has announced the release of its enhanced MONARCH 5 binocular, which is almost an ounce lighter than its predecessor thanks to a lighter rubber armor material. The optics also features Nikon’s extra-low dispersion glass lenses.
Nikon’s ED glass lenses effectively compensate for aberrations to provide images of superior contrast and outstanding resolution. The resolution and contrast are even more noticeable thanks to Phase Correction Coatings. The MONARCH 5 also features Dielectric High-Reflective Multilayer Prism Coatings, which help display exceptionally accurate color reproduction and a clear, natural looking image. Each of its Eco-Glass lenses are multicoated to provide maximum light transmission.
The MONARCH 5 binocular comes in black and is available in 8×42, 10×42 and 12×42 magnifications. It utilizes Nikon’s high-eyepoint design to provide a clear field-of-view and long eye-relief. The long eye-relief ensures sufficient space between the user’s eye and the binocular’s eyepiece lenses to make them comfortable for everyone, even for those wearing eyeglasses. The turn-and-slide rubber eyecups make it easy to find the correct eye positioning to see the full field-of-view. The MONARCH 5 also utilizes a smooth central focus knob that makes it easy to bring object into focus for fast viewing.
The MONARCH 5 is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed, making it waterproof and fogproof. A protective, rubber-armored coating strengthens its durability and ensures a non-slip grip during wet and dry conditions. The suggested retail figure for the MONARCH 5 binocular is $299.95 for the 8×42 model, $329.95 for the 10×42 model and $349.95 for the 12×42 model.
