The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has added another public hearing in Corpus Christi to gather input on proposed hunting and fishing regulation changes, including alteration to the speckled trout bag limit that would encompass much of the coast.
The department originally scheduled one public meeting in Corpus Christi for March 20, but the event would have conflicted with the annual CCA-Texas fundraising banquet the same night, an event that’s expected to draw at least 2,000 people and is the organization’s largest member gathering. Many of those folks are the same movers and shakers from whom the department is seeking the most notable input.

The current daily trout bag limit is 10 fish from the Louisiana border to the Land Cut, which sits below Corpus Christi. Below the Land Cut in the Lower Laguna Madre the daily trout limit is five.
The hearings in Corpus Christi are scheduled for 7 p.m. March 19 at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in the Natural Resources Center, Room 1003 at 6300 Ocean Drive and at 7 p.m. March 20 at the Del Mar College Center for Economic Development, Room 106 at 3209 S. Staples St.
